Judge J.J. Ford
Judge Josie-Jo Ford lives in apartment 4D of Sunset towers and drives a Mercedes. Strangely, her apartment number matches her name (Ford, 4D). While she likes Sandy McSouthers and always tips him, she thinks that Otis Amber is dumb. J.J. Ford actually grew up with Sam Westing. Her parents worked in his home. She had no siblings and wasn't allowed to play with Violet Westing. The only person she was able to play with was Sam. During her childhood, Judge Ford would always play chess with Sam and he would critice her. Once, he purposfuly sacrificed his queen, in order to distract her wile he got her in checkmate. Sam eventually paid for her entire schooling. However, this caused Josie-Jo to be in great debt to him, but since Sam dissapeared, her debt to him was never paid. For the reading of the will, she writes "judge, appellate division of the state supreme court". The Judge's partner is Sandy McSouthers. Their clues are SKIES, AM, SHINING, BROTHER. Ford believes that the Westing game is just Sam's way to get revenge on someone who he hated and that whoever the answer is, that's the person they need to protect from Sam. At first they have other ideas, but they eventually they realize that the victim of the Westing game must be the person who hurt Sam the most. This must be the person who he blames for the death of his daughter: his wife. She was the one who forced Violet to marry someone she didn't want to marry, causing her to commit suicide. Ford thinks that Sam's wife must be Crow, and she's the one they need to protect.
